LOADSAFE: A UNIQUE WORKING AT HEIGHT SOLUTION FOR FLAT BED VEHICLES
LoadSAFE provides a quick and easy barrier installation to protect operatives against falls while working on flatbed and low loader vehicles. The system has been designed to provide a speedy installation that can be left in place during transit or quickly removed for loading or carnage access. The basic design is to provide a top and middle barrier rail supported by the vehicle structure and intermediate support posts. The system complies with handrail design parameters with a height of 1100mm and a mid rail at 600mm.
The most common complaint for any webbing barrier is where to store the webbing when the system is not in use. Stored on the vehicle or in a trunk, it is inevitable that the next time it is needed it is often an entangled jumble. The LoadSAFE system has a recoiling winches that stores the webbing on a built in drum ready for use.
The user simply takes hold of a hook on the end of the webbing and walks along the side of the vehicle, threading the webbing through each intermediate posts. The hook is then connected to eyelets on the end frame or last post and tensions the webbing as normal. When the system is removed, the unhooked webbing is simply wound into its storagedrum at the front of the vehicle.

Above: There are two webbing straps that are located along each side of the vehicle, recoiled and stored in winders behind the bulkhead.
Right: No more tangled or missing barrier straps.

TautSAFE Fall arrest and safe working at height for curtain sided vehicles
TautSAFE provides the user with secure access and fall protection for the whole load area. The installation has a stainless steel safety line located along the length of the vehicle and located behind the curtain close to the roof.
A retractable fall arrest lanyard is suspended from a pulley wheel that travels the full length of the safety line. Before climbing onto the vehicle, the operative connects the lanyard to the rear connection of their fall arrest harness.
As the operator climbs up onto the load area, the lanyard will retract so that there is no slack in the webbing. This ensures that if a fall occurred, the lanyard mechanism will lock immediately, this will minimise any impact load or trauma. The user has hands free access and remains connected throughout their loading duties and only disconnect when they are safely back on the ground.
